Matthias Conaty of Child Victims Voice supports this New Jersey legislation and agrees with steadfast, courageous survivor advocate, Mark Crawford. According to Crawford, “The time is long overdue to fix this law. Eliminate the SOL for the sexual abuse of a minor, how could we do otherwise? … [in New Jersey] the current statute of limitations, [is] one of the shortest in the nation, just two years. This bill will pass both the assembly and senate on Monday and Governor Christie, as a former prosecutor…should immediately sign it into law. This is a no brainer, protecting the rights of children to be safe from a sexual predator vs protecting institution which have put children in harms way.”
